COLLECTION OF MESOPOTAMIAN STAMP SEALS AND AN AMULET - ORIGINAL LAMBERT REPORT.
Ca. 4000 - 1000 BC.
A collection of stamp seals and an amulet, including, from left to right: a terracotta stamp seal of circular form with a flat face and a broken stalk handle, the face decorated with lines and circles; a brown stone stamp seal of very rough oval form with a pinched and pierced middle, engraved with a criss-cross design; a black stone stamp seal with white veins, rhomb-shaped and pierced lengthways, engraved with a pattern of lines; a cream stone stamp seal of semi-ovoid form, pierced lengthways, with a pattern of drill holes; a black stone amulet with white veins showing a pair of fish placed close to one another; a cream stone stamp seal of hemispheroid form with flanges around the ends of the hole, engraved with a circle of six dots around a central dot; a black stone stamp seal of hemispheroid form, pierced, engraved with a simple cross with two L-shapes filling the quarters; and a grey and white stone stamp seal in plaque form, pierced lengthways, engraved with an oblong criss-cross pattern.
