COLLECTION OF MESOPOTAMIAN AND OLD SYRIAN STONE CYLINDER SEALS. Ca. early 3rd millennium BC - early 2nd millennium BC. A collection of three stone cylinder seals, including, from left to right: a Mesopotamian or Elamite red jasper seal with a crisscross pattern; an Old Syrian grey stone seal engraved with a battle scene including two kneeling figures holding scimitars; and a Mesopotamian or Northern Syrian black stone seal engraved with enthroned deities with religious symbols in the exergue. Size: 17-26mm x 9-10mm; Weight: 11g Provenance: Private London collection of an Ancient Art dealer; formerly in a central London family collection, 1990s; reportedly examined by Wilfrid George Lambert in the late 1980s–early 1990s; ex UK art market, 1970s–early 1980s.
