COLLECTION OF MESOPOTAMIAN AND ANATOLIAN STONE AND SHELL AMULETS AND A CYLINDER SEAL - ORIGINAL LAMB. Ca. 3000 BC - AD 200. A collection of amulets and a cylinder seal, including, from left to right: a white stone amulet in the form of a standing quadruped with a big nearly round body, pointed snout, and big ears, the surface of the body marked with bands of cuts to represent hair; a standing bovine in the round, trimmed; and a white shell cylinder seal with a pot-shaped loop handle, the design showing two rows of two fish going in opposite directions. Size: 21-52mm x 10-35mm; Weight: 70g Provenance: Private London collection of an Ancient Art dealer; formerly in a central London family collection, 1990s; examined by Wilfrid George Lambert in the late 1980s–early 1990s; ex UK art market, 1970s–early 1980s.
