COLLECTION OF MESOPOTAMIAN STONE STAMP SEALS - ORIGINAL LAMBERT REPORT.
Ca. 3000 - 2000 BC.
A collection of stamp seals, including, from left: a stamp seal or item of decoration, a hemispheroid with a design of a Greek cross, beneath each arm of which is a hole for a cord or wire to be threaded, with traces of glaze; a fawn stone stamp seal with white veins, a semi-ovoid pierced lengthways, with a pattern of dots; a cream stone stamp seal, a hemispheroid pierced horizontally, with two recumbent horned animals tete-beche; a white stone stamp seal, a hemispheroid pierced horizontally, with two horned animals variously disposed; a cream stone with red inclusions stamp seal, a hemispheroid pierced horizontally, with two fat and long animals tete-beche; and a white and colourless banded stone stamp seal, a gable pierced through the ridge, with two scorpions tete-beche.
