COLLECTION OF MESOPOTAMIAN STONE STAMP SEALS AND A BEAD - ORIGINAL LAMBERT REPORT.
Ca. 4000 - 2500 BC.
A collection of stone stamp seals and a bead, including, from top left: a white stone stamp seal with brown inclusions, a form between a hemispheroid and a semi-ovoid, pierced horizontally, with a big circle of water creatures and perhaps another item in the centre; a black stone stamp seal, a hemispheroid pierced vertically, with two quadrupeds interlocking; an amulet and bead of whitish stone, oval with flattened ends and a ridge on the back over the hole, pierced lengthways, with a linear design; a black stone stamp seal, pierced vertically, the back with a recumbent bovine with head turned backwards and the face with patterns of drill holes; a red stone stamp seal, a hemispheroid pierced horizontally, with two small springing animals tete-beche; a veined grey stone stamp seal, a semi-ovoid with ends of hole extended, with two small springing animals tete-beche; a white marble stamp seal, a semi-ovoid pierced lengthways, with drill holes; and a whitish stone stamp seal, pierced sideways, in the form of a shallow bowl resting on a round rim, the covered top with a design of dots.
