Description

EGYPTIAN FAIENCE SCARAB WITH PRENOMEN OF THUTMOSE III IN GOLD RING New Kingdom (possibly 18th dinasty, 1550Ð1292 BC). A faience scarab with a carved head, prothorax and wing cases. The underside is engraved with the prenomen of Thutmose III, 'Menkheperre', within a linear border. Pierced longitudinally, it is mounted on a swivel bar in a gold ring with a rounded hoop, ribbed terminals and applied granules. For similar see: The Michael C.
