EGYPTIAN GOLD PENDANT WITH LAPIS LAZULI, CARNELIAN AND GLASS EYE OF HORUS New Kingdom, Ca. 1550 - 1069 BC. A gold amulet in the shape of the Eye of Horus. The eyebrow is inlaid with lapis lazuli, with a band of carnelian below. The eye has an opaque white glass sclera, a black glass iris and an extended lapis lazuli line. Beneath are a lapis lazuli drop and a principal curved lapis lazuli marking, with carnelian between the marking and the extended line. The amulet is mounted in a coiled gold wire pendant fitted with a suspension loop. For similar see: Cairo Museum, JE 61901.
