PHOENICIAN GLASS SCARAB WITH SPHINX IN GOLD SWIVEL RING Ca. 500 - 300 BC. A brown glass scarab with a smooth convex back. The underside is engraved with a kneeling man with sphinx, ankh above. It is mounted in a possibly later gold swivel ring with a plain rounded hoop and coiled terminals. Size: D:20.98mm / US: 11 3/8 / UK: W 1/2; Weight: 6.9g Provenance: UK private collection; London market; ex Parthenon Gallery, 1990s.
