ETRUSCAN CARNELIAN SCARAB OF PERSEUS IN GOLD SWIVEL RING Ca. 500 BC. A carnelian scarab with a carved back and an underside engraved with Perseus standing nude on a groundline, holding a sword in his left hand and a shield in his right, within a hatched border. It is mounted in a possibly later gold swivel ring with a rounded hoop, wire-bound shoulders and knobbed terminals.
