GREEK GOLD LEAF BELT APPLIQUE WITH PUNCHED DECORATION Ca. 700 - 500 BC. A gold leaf belt applique with a tapering plate terminating in a rounded point. The face is decorated with repeated chevrons composed of punched dots, centred by a vertical series of larger bosses. Perforations along the edges and upper border served for attachment. Size: 150mm x 30mm; Weight: 12g Provenance: Private collection of a Cambridgeshire gentleman; formerly with Allison Barker, 1990sÐ2007. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
