Description
LATE ROMAN GOLD AND STONE PENDANT WITH MENORAH Ca. AD 400. A pendant composed of a dark stone cylinder enclosed by gold end caps and a central gold sleeve decorated with a menorah, each fitted with a ribbed suspension loop above and topped with clusters of granules. Below, double loops support a gold bar with coiled terminals, suspending a central garnet drop pendant with a green stone bead beneath and two bell-shaped gold pendants on loop-in-loop chains at the sides. Size: 31mm x 25mm; Weight: 3.8g Provenance: From a private UK collection; London market acquisition; earlier part of a Swiss collection spanning the 1980sÐ2007.
