ROMAN AGATE CAMEO OF A MUSICIAN PLAYING FLUTE IN GOLD PENDANT Ca. AD 1 - 300. An agate cameo carved with a draped musician in profile, the head inclined towards a double flute held to the mouth. The figure is framed within a possibly later gold mount with a plain oval inner frame and a twisted wire outer border. A ribbed suspension loop is attached above. Size: 39mm x 22mm; Weight: 8.8g Provenance: From a private London collection; earlier present on the German art market in the 1990s.
