ROMAN GNOSTIC DOUBLE-SIDED GEM WITH CHNOUBIS, ASKLEPIOS AND HYGIEIA Ca. AD 1 - 300. A brown stone double-sided gem with a bevelled edge. The obverse is engraved with the lion-headed serpent Chnoubis to the left, surrounded by magical symbols and an inscription in the field. The reverse depicts Asklepios and Hygieia standing on a groundline. Asklepios, draped in a himation, holds a staff entwined by a single serpent. Beside him, Hygieia, wearing a long chiton and mantle, extends a bowl in her right hand and holds a serpent in her left, its head appearing above her right shoulder and its tail coiling behind her back.
