ROMAN AGATE INTAGLIO OF AN EROTIC SCENE IN GOLD RING Ca. AD 1 - 300. An agate intaglio engraved with an erotic scene of two nude figures on a couch. A woman seated at left inclines towards the man at right, holding his penis in her right hand as if about to perform fellatio. The couch has turned legs and a bolster at the right end. The gem is set in a possibly later gold ring with a plain oval bezel and a broad hoop tapering towards the underside.
