PAIR OF BYZANTINE GOLD CROSS PENDANTS WITH GARNETS AND PEARLS Ca. AD 800 - 1000. A pair of gold cross pendants, each with four broad triangular arms centred by a circular boss set with a garnet. Pearl drops are suspended from the lateral and lower arms on twisted wire links. Each pendant has a vertical suspension loop above, with small globules applied between the arms. Size: 33-34mm x 24-24mm; Weight: 7g Provenance: From a private London collection; earlier present on the German art market in the 1990s.
