MATCHED PAIR OF BYZANTINE OR ISLAMIC GOLD AND TURQUOISE EARRINGS Ca. AD 800 - 1000. A matched pair of gold earrings, each with a curved hoop ending in a hook fastening. Three hollow gold beads are arranged below, with two larger globes flanking a central bead set with turquoise cabochons. Ribbed tubular sleeves are set between the beads. For similar see: C.
