BYZANTINE ROCK CRYSTAL AND GOLD PENDANT WITH CHRISTIAN SCENE AND INSCRIPTION Ca. AD 500 - 700. A circular rock crystal pendant engraved and gilt with a Christian figural scene, centred by a nimbed figure seated on horseback and holding a cross. The horse's head is surmounted by a cross, with a further nimbed figure standing before it and a recumbent figure below. Greek inscriptions encircle the composition. The crystal is set in a gold mount edged with fine ribbing and fitted with a suspension loop.
