STUNNING BYZANTINE SILVER-GILT PENDANT WITH ARCHANGEL MICHAEL Ca. AD 900. A silver-gilt pendant with a circular body and a hinged tubular suspension loop above. The obverse is decorated in relief with the bust of the nimbate Archangel Michael, with outspread wings and a long staff in the right hand. A raised ornamental border encircles the figure, with seven ribbed perforated lugs around the outer edge. The reverse is decorated with a central rosette and a foliate border.
