ETRUSCAN REVIVAL GOLD EARRING WITH LION'S HEAD TERMINAL Ca. AD 1800. A gold earring formed as a tapering hoop, ending at the thicker end in a lion's head modelled with an open mouth, rounded muzzle, and swept mane. The neck is decorated with granulation, spiral filigree, and tongue-shaped ornaments. Size: 25mm x 25mm; Weight: 11.2g Provenance: Private London collection; formerly in a UK ancient art collection (early 2000s); previously in the G.M. collection before 1996. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
