A gold earring formed as a tapering hoop, ending at the thicker end in a mythological animal head terminal modelled with an open mouth, pointed ears, and a raised crest. The neck is decorated with granulation, spiral filigree, and tongue-shaped ornaments. Size: 28mm x 23mm; Weight: 12.1g Provenance: Private London collection; formerly in a UK ancient art collection (early 2000s); previously in the G.M. collection before 1996.
