PAIR OF EGYPTIAN STEATITE AND GLAZED STEATITE SCARABS WITH HIEROGLYPHS IN GOLD PENDANTS New Kingdom, Ca. 1550 - 1069 BC. A pair of scarabs, including, from left to right: a steatite scarab with a plain carved back and an underside engraved with a falcon flanked by hieroglyphs; and a blue-glazed steatite scarab with a carved head, prothorax and wing cases, its underside engraved with a seated goddess within a linear border. Each is pierced longitudinally and mounted on a possibly later gold swivel frame with a suspension loop.
