ETRUSCAN AGATE SCARABOID OF A GRIFFON IN GOLD RING Ca. 500 BC. An agate scaraboid with a plain convex back and a flat underside engraved with a winged griffin striding to the right. It is pierced longitudinally and mounted on a swivel bar within a possibly later gold ring with a rounded hoop and wire-bound terminals. Size: D:12.4mm / US: 1 / UK: B; Weight: 6g Provenance: From a London private collection; previously part of a Dutch collection formed between the 1970s and 1980s. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter. This piece is accompanied by a report from Lisa Sartini, Egyptologist PHD of Chimera Heritage Consultants.
