SILVER TETRADRACHM OF ALEXANDER THE GREAT IN A GOLD-PLATED STERLING SILVER COLOSSEUM-SHAPED PENDANT Ca. 325 - 319 BC. A silver tetradrachm of Alexander the Great, the obverse with the head of Herakles to right wearing the lion skin headdress. The reverse depicts Zeus Aetophoros seated to the left, holding an eagle in his right hand and a sceptre in his left. The coin is mounted in a circular gold-plated sterling silver pendant by Apollo Brand, shaped as the Colosseum, with the surrounding frame divided into architectural tiers.
