ROMAN GOLD, CARNELIAN AND GLASS PENDANT WITH DANGLES Ca. AD 1 - 300. A gold pendant composed of two lozenge-shaped plaques joined by a central carnelian bead. Each plaque is bordered by rows of granulation and set at the centre with a circular glass cabochon in a beaded collet. Beaded dangles are suspended from the lower points, each comprising a white glass sphere above carnelian and blue glass beads. Size: 70mm x 45mm; Weight: 8.3g Provenance: Private UK collection; London art market acquisition, pre-2000.
