EGYPTIAN BLUE FAIENCE SCARABOID WITH SYMBOLS IN SILVER RING Middle Kingdom, Ca. 2055 - 1650 BC. A rectangular glazed steatite seal, one face decorated with an incised crosshatched pattern. The underside bears deeply engraved hieroglyphic devices; mounted as the swivel bezel of a possibly later silver ring with coiled-wire shoulders. For similar see: The British Museum, Museum number EA16827. Size: D:20.37mm / US: 10 5/8 / UK: V; Weight: 8.8g Provenance: From a private UK collection; London market acquisition; earlier part of a Swiss collection spanning the 1980sÐ2007.
