EGYPTIAN GREEN FAIENCE SCARABOID WITH CROWNS IN SILVER RING Middle Kingdom, Ca. 2055 - 1650 BC. A turquoise-glazed steatite seal, one face incised with a symmetrical vegetal device within a rectangular border. The reverse bears a compartmented geometric design; mounted as the swivel bezel of a possibly later silver ring with coiled-wire shoulders. Size: D:16.51mm / US: 6 / UK: L 1/2; Weight: 3.5g Provenance: From a private UK collection; London market acquisition; earlier part of a Swiss collection spanning the 1980sÐ2007.
