ROMANO-EGYPTIAN FAIENCE FIGURINE OF TAWERET Ca. 30 BC - AD 200. A blue faience figurine of Taweret standing on a rectangular base, with a hippopotamus head, pendent breasts and a swollen abdomen. Her arms extend beside the body, with the leonine paws placed against the thighs. A long striated mane and crocodile tail descend over the back. Size: 55mm x 17mm; Weight: 15g Provenance: Private UK collection; acquired in Germany; formerly with G. M., Sweden 1980s-1990s.
