HELLENISTIC GOLD PENDANT WITH RIBBED AMETHYST BEAD Ca. 400 - 300 BC. A gold pendant composed of a ribbed amethyst bead enclosed between two elaborate gold caps. Each cap is decorated with a radiating zigzag border and concentric filigree bands. A looped suspension fitting is attached above the upper cap.
