Description
COLLECTION OF GRAECO-EGYPTIAN STONE SCARABS Ca. 300 - 100 BC. A collection of three engraved amulets, comprising a circular carnelian intaglio depicting a horned quadruped in profile and two pale agate scarabs. The larger agate, distinguished by striking dendritic inclusions, bears a field of linear devices, while the smaller example is lightly engraved with a standing figure and accompanying symbols. Both agates are modelled on the reverse with stylised scarab anatomy. Surface wear, minor abrasions and edge chips, with more substantial losses to the upper edge of the larger agate.
