COLLECTION OF GREEK GOLD, TURQUOISE AND LAPIS LAZULI APPLIQUES Ca. 500 - 300 BC. A collection of gold, turquoise and lapis lazuli appliques, including, from top: a lozenge-shaped ornament with a turquoise centre, circular cells with orange inlays above and below, and beaded borders; two ornaments with turquoise inlays arranged in paired pointed cells around central heart-shaped cells, also edged with beading; and three floral ornaments with rounded turquoise cells, pointed lapis lazuli petals, and turquoise centres, all within plain gold borders. The reverse of each ornament is fitted with attachment bars. Size: 9-11mm x 8-9mm; Weight: 3.6g Provenance: From a private UK collection; London market acquisition; earlier part of a Swiss collection spanning the 1980sÐ2007.
