ROMAN REPUBLICAN SILVER DENARIUS OF Q. CASSIUS LONGINUS IN GOLD-PLATED STERLING SILVER RING Ca. 55 BC. A silver denarius of Q. Cassius Longinus, the obverse with the head of Genius to the right. The reverse depicts an eagle standing on a thunderbolt, with a lituus to the left and a capis, a sacrificial jug, to the right. The coin is mounted in a gold-plated sterling silver ring by Apollo Brand, with a broad hoop expanding towards the circular bezel, its exterior textured with irregular linear striations.
