LARGE BYZANTINE SILVER ARCHER'S RING Ca. AD 1000 - 1200. A silver archer's ring with a broad hoop and an extended triangular thumb plate. The exterior is engraved with geometric panels of nested triangles and hatched bands. Three raised medallions around the sides and back are engraved with radiating stars. At the front, a lozenge-shaped panel encloses a bunch of wheat. Size: D:19.76mm / US: 10 / UK: T 1/2; Weight: 13.6g Provenance: Private UK collection; London art market acquisition, pre-2000.
