PAIR OF BYZANTINE LEAD CROSS PENDANTS Ca. AD 1200 - 1500. A pair of lead cross pendants, including, from left to right: a larger cross with square panels enclosing busts of saints around a central medallion depicting the crucified Christ on one face and the Virgin and Child on the other, with trefoil terminals and a suspension loop above; and a smaller cross with flaring arms decorated on both faces with symbols, rounded projections at the terminals, and an upper suspension loop. Size: 40-45mm x 30-32mm; Weight: 14g Provenance: Private collection of a Cambridgeshire gentleman; formerly with Allison Barker, 1990sÐ2007.
