Prince G. A. Lvov’s estate, known as Lvovo or Borovoé, was built in 1913–1914 to designs by Semyon Petrovich Ivanov for the oil magnate and financier Georgy Lvov, director of the Neft company. After the Revolution, the estate served various institutional purposes, first as a home for orphaned children, then as an annex to the Krasny Val spa, and from 1940 onwards as a holiday home for the NKVD. Today, the estate houses a sanatorium.
