OFFICER'S GILET, First Empire Hundred Days 1815.
Of the type found in the cavalry, in scarlet woollen cloth, buttoned straight to the front by means of 12 general officer buttons of the model of the Hundred Days period, gilded brass plates mounted on bone (diameter 17.6 mm) embossed in relief with a shield devoid of attributes, with laurel wreath broaching a lictor's bundle topped by an empanached helmet, with in the background a bundle of flags and the spindle of Jupiter.
