Mamluk-style BOWL, Egypt or Near East, late 19th/early 20th century
Large bowl with truncated cone-shaped body and hemmed lip, in hammered copper alloy with engraved decoration, partly inlaid with silver, of a frieze of roundels alternately decorated with an epigraphic or geometric composition standing out against a background of interlocking Ys, the whole framed by friezes of interlacing and underlined by lambrequins decorated with plant scrolls.
Height: 18 cm. Diameter at the base: 30 cm. Diameter at the opening: 23 cm.
