Emile GALLE (1846 1904)
VASE with conical ovoid body and small tubular neck on annular heel.
Pink lined glass on green ground. Decorated with buttons and carnation flowers engraved in cameo with acid and repeated with a wheel on a frosted background.
Created circa 1895-1897.
Signed under the base "Cristallerie d'E Gallé / Nancy / Modèle et décor déposés".
Height: 10.5 cm. Diameter: 16.5 cm (Small firing bubbles burst on reverse).
History: a similar model is currently in the collections of the Glasmuseum Hentrich im Museum Kunstpalast in Düsseldorf (n°inv. P 1970- 191).
