Description
Joseph MEGLY (1922–2012), Lorraine. Toul and Saint-Etienne Cathedral, large watercolour on paper, signed lower left. Exhibition label. 76.5 x 55 cm. Joseph Mégly was a designer at the Saint-Louis crystal works from 1937 to 1967 (awarded the title of ‘Meilleur Ouvrier de France’ in 1952 as a crystal designer and creator). He illustrated several books on Lorraine. A talented watercolourist, he devoted himself mainly to his beloved region of Bitcherland (see Revue Lorraine Populaire no. 95).
