PELLERIN Prints, Epinal – Lorraine. A series of 12 large, hand-coloured stencil prints depicting full-length portraits of soldiers, mainly from the Second Empire under Napoleon III: a Zouave (1852), a foot hunter (1866), a guide, a dragoon of the Imperial Guard, Cent-Garde, elite gendarme, Italian ‘lanciere’, ‘bersagliere’ and ‘alpino’, and Swiss Army infantry carabiniere (1883). Two are framed (94.5 x 40 cm overall). 20th-century print. The others show signs of wear, soiling and tears.
