LOUIS XVI in 1791/1792: a set of three documents: - “Monsieur Véto”, a caricature believed to be by Monnier, an etching and aquatint from 1791 or 1792 (Louis XVI exercised this right five times, from November 1791 to June 1792) - Two decrees of the National Convention relating to the flight to Varennes: 21 June 1791 “…the departure of the King and his entire family…to seal the apartments of the Tuileries and Luxembourg palaces…the royal family has been abducted...” and of 23 June “the most powerful and vigorous measures shall be taken to protect the safety (of the royal family) and ensure their return to Paris...”
