Description
THE HUNDRED DAYS (1 March to 7 July 1815): 52 documents from the period and 9 subsequent documents (2 relating to the Ney trial), including 5 damaged posters, newspapers, letters, a certificate, a military discharge, a circular and a gazette of laws. Including instructions for taking the oath of allegiance to the Empire and a letter from a man to his son, lamenting that he was unable to attend the ‘Champ de Mai’ (the assembly at which Napoleon proclaimed the Additional Act to the Constitutions of the Empire). A receipt for 300 francs for a horse hired from a captain in the 5th Company or the Emperor’s Sacred Battalion, the horse having been lost, Lyon, 15 April 1815.
