Napoleon III – Crimean War: Two circulars from the Bishop of Perpignan, one giving thanks to God for the capture of Sevastopol, the other announcing the Empress’s happy pregnancy and then referring to Sevastopol to illustrate France’s good fortune. A letter reporting the death of a fusilier at the military hospital in Constantinople in December 1855. A letter from a soldier to his parents, sent from Constantinople in February 1856. A transfer order for an adjutant of the military hospitals, from Constantinople in January 1856. The assault on Malakoff and the capture of Sevastopol, an Épinal print by Pellerin (57x38.5cm, engraved section).
