TIMOTEO VITI (attributed to) (Urbino, 1469 – 1523) Mary Magdalene Saint Paul Oil on panel, 26.5 × 12.5 cm (2) Attributed to Timoteo Viti in the collection to which it belongs, according to early sources (Malvasia and Vasari), the painter trained in Bologna in the workshop of Francesco Francia between 1490 and 1495. We know that he was active in Urbino in 1503, and his style reflects the influence of both Perugino and Raphael, but in particular that of Girolamo Genga, with whom he collaborated in 1504 on the decoration of the chapel dedicated to Saint Martin in the cathedral (Ferino Pagden, 1979, pp. 127–144; Cleri, 2005). From a stylistic point of view, the two panels should be dated to around 1510, in line with the *Saint Apollonia* and *Saint Mary Magdalene* in the National Gallery of the Marche (see M. Procaccini 2025, pp. 224–228, nos. 7–8). Key bibliography: S.
