Description
Interesting "Harmonica" system rifle, Jarre system, calibre 24 pinfire. Horizontal magazine, Harmonica, for four pinfire cartridges, internal mechanism with double-headed hammer, lower trigger for horizontal magazine movement. Single barrel octagonal then round in damascus steel, bearing a band at the top signed: "Invno Jarre à Paris", at the end the band forms an openwork projection provided with a point of sights. Second Empire period. Numbered 15. 38 cm stock. Barrel : 64 cm. Total length: 111 cm In 1862, JARRE registered a patent for the invention in France and the United States; the system was exhibited by JARRE and company at the Paris Universal Exhibition in 1867. Category D weapon, sold over the counter.
