The 1980s marked a period of prolific exhibition activity for the artist, particularly in the United States. Alongside other artists, including Basterretxea, he exhibited several works in Chicago and Reno with the aim of promoting Basque art across the Atlantic. Our work "Eaux et Terres" symbolises this period.
Furthermore, in 1984, the artist exhibited at the Kezka gallery in Hondarribia. This exhibition held particular significance for the artist, who at the time published a text offering atonement for the traumas experienced during the Civil War and the Dictatorship. Forced exile and repression are images that could be washed away by water and a return to his native land.
