TOMMASO CASCELLA (Rome, 1951) – Esatta predisposizione (2017) Oil and collage on wood panel. Dimensions: 100 x 160 cm. An important abstract composition from Tommaso Cascella’s mature artistic output, in which the artist achieves a refined balance between material, gesture and spatial construction. The work presents a careful articulation of geometric planes and simplified organic forms, rendered in a delicate palette of earth tones, greys and ochres that evoke an atmosphere of great serenity and poetic depth. The black lines and subtle chromatic accents lend compositional dynamism, whilst the incorporation of collage elements enriches the material quality of the surface. The work as a whole reflects the abstract and meditative language characteristic of Cascella, who is an heir to the contemporary Italian lyrical tradition. The work is signed, dated and titled in black marker on the reverse. It features a double initial in the top right-hand corner. A certificate of authenticity, in the form of a photograph, is affixed to the reverse. The work is in perfect condition. Provenance: private collection, Padua.
