Extraordinary Russian Orthodox Icon – Silversmith Pavel Ovchinnikov and Ippolit Monighetti, Moscow, circa 1890. Silver case crafted by the imperial silversmith Pavel Ovchinnikov and icon painted by Ippolit Antonovich Monighetti, a work worthy of a museum. Monighetti was court painter to the Russian Imperial Romanov Dynasty and a professor at the Imperial Academy of Arts in Moscow. 31 x 27.5 cm. Owned by a major collector.
