Saint John the Baptist, Spanish school, 18th century Oil on copper. Dimensions 61 x 49 cm; framed 71 x 59 cm. A figure of a young Saint John the Baptist, standing beside a tree, with a lamb at his feet and his arm raised in a gesture of proclamation, whilst in his other hand he holds a scroll. In the background, a riverside landscape unfolds, featuring small figures undergoing baptism which enhance the narrative of the scene.
