Description
Egyptian funerary mask with a fluted headdress, Late Period, 7th–4th century BC.
Polychrome wood with mineral pigments on a stuccoed base. Measures 22 x 18 cm. Egyptian funerary mask depicting a frontal view of a face with large, almond-shaped eyes outlined in black, arched eyebrows, a straight nose and a thin mouth. The striated headdress retains reddish bands against an ochre background. The surface shows traces of polychromy, losses, erosion, organic residue and visible fixing holes.
