Sculpture of Our Lady of Sorrows in period costume, Bolognese School, 19th century Polychrome terracotta and textiles. Dimensions: 35 x 27 x 21 cm. This devotional sculpture depicts Our Lady of Sorrows as a bust, with a sorrowful expression and an upturned gaze full of emotional drama. The face, modelled in polychrome terracotta, reveals a delicate anatomical rendering and intense expressive sensitivity, accentuated by visible tears and the gentle tilt of the head. The figure is clad in rich velvet fabrics and traditionally inspired lace, complemented by gold braid that frames the black veil and reinforces the ceremonial character of the image.
